My walk with God ceased a little under five years ago, after faltering over a number of years. I still believe in God, still live my life as much as possible in accordance with Christ's teachings in terms of my treatment of other people, but I could no longer cope with church, and the whole area of God's specific will for me was too painful to deal with any more.
The life I live now is surprisingly happy, but to reach this place, I have had to let go of hope, to give up trying to understand how and why my situation came about, and above all, to accept that none of this matters to God, and it mustn't matter to me.
But sometimes, looking back, I wonder if any Christian who knew my situation ever prayed for me, and in particular, if any of those who bore the responsibility (not the same thing as blame) for my situation ever prayed for me. And if anyone I know prays for me now.
Pray for the Carls and Lisas in your churches, and pray for church leaders to be aware of what God is doing in the lives of their parishioners, and to be actively involved in enabling them to use their gifts fully in God's service.
